Mini Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mini is a very common mistake. And what you need to do about it hinges on a few factors. If perhaps you would like to know what it is best to do to fix it then stay with me.
These are the most important variables to consider whenever making a decision whether or not to have your car drained:

  1. How much Petrol have you put into the Mini, keeping in mind that the fuel capacity of your Mini Cooper D is most likely roughly 40 litres?
    1. A small amount of Petrol, as little as 2 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Cooper D will normally not be a major problem. Experience has taught us that quantities less than 2 litres (about 5% of the total fuel tank) is generally capable of being adequately diluted simply by thoroughly topping up the rest of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It is very rare to encounter a vehicle experiencing difficulties with below 5% wrong fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it is very unusual - not impossible to encounter. You will discover a few vehicles that don't endure any level of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 2 and 4 litres of Petrol in the Mini (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has demonstrated that as many motorists get away with this as those who break down. Whenever deciding upon whether to risk it and just simply top it up recognise that it is the same thing as wagering your car on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything more than 4 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Cooper D really should promptly be drained out seeing that your likelihood of driving with that quantity of contamination is very likely below one in 50 - seriously long odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Mini and drove it: Have you noticed any kind of performance difficulties since putting the bad fuel in the Cooper D? If so, have it emptied irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Still driving a motor vehicle that is starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination will typically bring about more and more harm being done to your fuel system.
  3. Do you want peace of mind?
Then simply just get it drained. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is always a certain level of threat connected to operating a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Possible consequences of driving a car on the incorrect fuel can include the engine not starting, running unevenly, reduced power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, and the like. These are some of the most common Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and if you observe any of them then stop and get it removed right away.

Keep away from having any jack-of-all-trades to try to fix your car. We are Mini experts and have got the qualifications and expertise needed to make certain you are back on the road with little hassle or trouble.
