Mitsubishi Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling up with Petrol in a Diesel Mitsubishi is a very common error. And what you need to do about it depends on various factors. Assuming you want to know what you should do to fix it then continue reading.
Here are the most crucial factors to keep in mind when deciding whether to get it drained:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol have you put in to the Mitsubishi, taking into account that the fuel tank capacity of your Mitsubishi Space Gear TD is most likely about 66 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Petrol, something like 3.3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Space Gear TD will generally not be a significant problem. Experience has proven to us that an amount under 3.3 litres (which is almost 5% of the fuel tank volume) is very often capable of being sufficiently diluted by thoroughly topping up the rest of the tank with Diesel.
It is extremely rare to find a vehicle suffering from issues due to less than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind that it is infrequently found - in no way impossible to find. There are actually a few automobiles that don't stand any degree of contamination at all.
    2. In between 3.3 and 6.6 litres of Petrol in the Mitsubishi (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 situation. Our experience has proven that as many motorists get away with this as those people who don't. When you are deciding upon whether to risk it and just simply fill it up remember that it is the same thing as wagering your car on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything above 6.6 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Space Gear TD must immediately be drained as your likelihood of driving with that level of contamination is very likely lower than one in 50 - genuinely huge odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Mitsubishi and drove it: Have you spotted any kind of performance concerns as a result of putting the bad fuel in your Space Gear TD? If that's the case, have it drained irrespective of the volume of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Proceeding to drive driving a vehicle that is beginning to suffer the consequences of wrong fuel contamination can definitely bring about increasing amounts of damage affecting your fuel system.
  3. Would you like assurance?
In that case get it removed. Regardless of the contamination percentage, there is invariably a certain level of risk in connection with driving a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with the incorrect fuel. Possible results of driving on the wrong fuel normally include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, losing power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, and the like. These are a few of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and should you observe any of them then stop and have it drained right away.
