Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot is a regularly occurring problem. And what you should do about it depends upon several different things. If perhaps you want to find out what you must do about this then keep on reading.
Let us discuss the key variables to think about whenever deciding on whether to have your car drained:

  1. What amount of Petrol did you put into the Peugeot, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Peugeot 3008 Hdi is in most cases approximately 60 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, something like 3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 3008 Hdi will in most cases not really be a huge problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything less than 3 litres (5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is frequently capable of being adequately diluted by means of wholly filling the remainder of the tank with Diesel.
It is quite unusual to find a car going through issues because of under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Do not forget that it is very infrequently found - not impossible to find. You will discover a few automobiles that won't stand any quantity of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Between 3 and 6 litres of Petrol in the Peugeot (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our expertise has shown us that as many drivers get away with it as all those who break down. When you are deciding on whether to chance it and basically top it up bear in mind that it is the same thing as wagering it all on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything over 6 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 3008 Hdi should straightaway be removed because your likelihood of succeeding with this quantity of contamination is certainly less than one in fifty - truly big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot and drove it: Have you noted any performance problems ever since putting the incorrect fuel in your 3008 Hdi? In that case, get it emptied regardless of the volume of Petrol or even the contamination ratio. Still driving a motor vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of fuel contamination will likely be responsible for even more damage affecting your fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for peace of mind?
Then get it emptied. Whatever the contamination ratio, there is always some amount of risk in connection with driving a Diesel engine on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Likely consequences of driving on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running unevenly, decrease in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn out or bunged injectors, etc. These are a few of the commonest Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and if you detect any of them then stop and get it drained as soon as possible.

Refrain from having any untrained so-and-so to attend your automobile. We are Peugeot specialists and hold the qualifications and experience required to ensure you get back on the road with no hassle or worry.

Will getting you to do a fuel drain void my warranty?

Answer

No! The EU Block Exemption Regulations clearly state that "the work can be carried out by as long as that garage uses manufacturer approved parts and correctly follows the manufacturer's service schedule."

Can I top it up with Diesel and add some 2-stroke oil?

Answer

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
