Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot is a very common problem. And its solution is dependent upon a few factors. In case you want to find out what it is best to do about this then keep on reading.
Here are the main factors to to consider whenever making a decision whether to get a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol have you put into the Peugeot, considering that the fuel capacity of your Peugeot 307 CC Hdi is most likely around 60 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Petrol, something like 3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 307 CC Hdi will more often than not not necessarily be a major problem. Experience has proven to us that an amount under 3 litres (roughly 5% of the entire fuel tank volume) is oftentimes able to be sufficiently diluted simply by completely filling the remainder of the tank with the appropriate fuel.
It's extremely unusual to encounter a car or truck suffering from problems due to under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Bear in mind that it is very rare - definitely not impossible to find. You can get some cars that will not endure any quantity of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Between 3 and 6 litres of Petrol in the Peugeot (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience demonstrates that as many drivers get away with it as those people who break down. Whenever trying to decide whether or not to chance it and basically top it up remember that it is much like betting all of it on black - you've got a 50/50 possibility of it working.
    3. Anything over 6 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 307 CC Hdi should right away be drained seeing that your probability of getting away with that amount of contamination is very likely lower than one in fifty - truly long odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot and drove it: Have you observed any kind of performance problems after putting the incorrect fuel in the 307 CC Hdi? In that case, have it emptied regardless of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Still running an automobile that is now beginning to suffer the consequences of wrong fuel contamination can likely end up in more and more damage being done to your fuel system.
  3. Do you want assurance?
In that case get it emptied. No matter the contamination ratio, there is invariably some degree of risk connected to operating a Diesel engine on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Likely outcomes of driving on the wrong fuel can include the engine not starting, running lumpy, loss of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or clogged injectors, and the like. These are several of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and in the event that you recognise any of them then stop and get it drained right now.
