Peugeot Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot is a common mistake to make. And what you want to do about it depends upon a few things. In case you want to find out what you need to do to fix it then keep reading.
Here are the main variables to think about whenever deciding whether or not to get your car drained:

  1. What level of Petrol have you put in to the Peugeot, keeping in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Peugeot 806 TD is most likely roughly 80 litres?
    1. A tiny quantity of Petrol, less than 4 litres of Petrol in a Diesel 806 TD will normally not really be a huge problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that quantities less than 4 litres (which is approximately 5% of the total fuel tank capacity) is quite often capable of being adequately diluted through completely filling up the remainder of the tank with Diesel.
It's pretty rare to find a car or truck suffering from issues because of less than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Remember that it's unusual - in no way impossible to find. You will discover some automobiles that don't stand any quantity of fuel contamination whatsoever.
    2. Somewhere between 4 and 8 litres of Petrol in the Peugeot (5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has shown that as many drivers get away with this as those who don't. Any time you're deciding on whether or not to chance it and simply top it up consider that it is the same thing as betting everything on black - you've got a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 8 litres of Petrol in your Diesel 806 TD must as soon as possible be drained seeing that your probability of succeeding with this amount of contamination is undoubtedly below one in fifty - definitely big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Peugeot and drove it: Have you noticed any performance concerns ever since putting the incorrect fuel in your 806 TD? If that's the case, get it emptied irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Continuing to run driving a vehicle that is now starting to suffer from the effects of fuel contamination can typically cause increasing amounts of damage being caused to the fuel system parts.
  3. Do you need security?
Then simply just get it drained. Regardless of contamination ratio, there is invariably some extent of risk linked with operating a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible results of driving a car on the wrong fuel normally include the motor not starting, running unevenly, losing power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or blocked injectors, etc. These are some of the most common Petrol in Diesel symptoms, and should you detect any of them cease driving and get it removed as soon as possible.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
