SsangYong Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel SsangYong is a well-known mistake to make. And what you have to do about it is based on a number of factors. If you want to find out what you must do about this then please read on.
Listed here are the main factors to to consider when choosing whether to get it drained:

  1. How much Petrol did you put into the SsangYong, bearing in mind that the fuel capacity of your SsangYong Musso TD is usually approximately 73 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Petrol, something like 3.65 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Musso TD will in most cases not be a significant problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything less than 3.65 litres (5% of the whole fuel tank volume) is in many instances capable of being sufficiently diluted through thoroughly topping the tank with Diesel.
It's highly rare to encounter a car having problems with lower than 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Remember that it's uncommon - in no way impossible to encounter. You will discover a few cars that won't stand any amount of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 3.65 and 7.3 litres of Petrol in the SsangYong (5 to 10%) is more of a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has revealed that as many motorists get away with this as those people who break down. Whenever deciding upon whether or not to chance it and just fill it up recognise that it is the same as gambling all of it on black - you have got a 50/50 possibility of it working out.
    3. Anything in excess of 7.3 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Musso TD should straightaway be removed as your probability of getting away with that level of contamination is very likely below one in fifty - definitely big odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel SsangYong and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance concerns as a result of putting the bad fuel in the Musso TD? If that's the case, have it drained regardless of the amount of Petrol or the contamination ratio. Continually running a vehicle that is now beginning to suffer the consequences of fuel contamination can only cause progressively more harm affecting your fuel system parts.
  3. Would you like assurance?
You should get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is always some amount of threat resulting from running a Diesel vehicle on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Possible final outcomes of driving a vehicle on the incorrect fuel can include the engine refusing to start, running unevenly, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and the like. These are several of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and in the event that you recognise any of them then stop and have it removed right now.
