Toyota Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Toyota is a fairly typical error. And exactly what you need to do about it depends upon several different factors. If perhaps you want to know what you should do about this then keep reading.
Listed below are the key factors to keep in mind whenever figuring out whether to have a fuel drain:

  1. Exactly how much Petrol did you put in to the Toyota, considering that the fuel tank capacity of the Toyota Picnic TD is in most cases roughly 60 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, something like 3 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Picnic TD will normally not really be a significant problem. Experience has proven to us that anything under 3 litres (which is about 5% of the entire fuel tank) is oftentimes capable of being completely diluted simply by totally filling up the tank with the correct fuel.
It's highly rare to find an automobile experiencing problems because of lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Keep in mind it's infrequent - in no way impossible to find. You can get some vehicles that will not stand any degree of contamination in the slightest.
    2. Anywhere between 3 and 6 litres of Petrol in the Toyota (from 5 to 10%) is really a 50/50 scenario. Our experience has proven that as many drivers get away with it as those who don't. When trying to decide whether to risk it and basically top it up consider that it is the same as betting all of it on black - you will have a 50/50 chance of it working.
    3. Anything in excess of 6 litres of Petrol in your Diesel Picnic TD should immediately be drained out seeing that your likelihood of driving with that level of contamination is undoubtedly lower than one in fifty - seriously big odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Toyota and drove it: Have you detected any kind of performance issues since putting the wrong fuel in your Picnic TD? If you have, have it removed no matter the volume of Petrol or even the contamination percentage. Continuing to drive running an automobile that is now beginning to suffer from the consequences of wrong fuel contamination will definitely end up in more harm affecting the fuel system.
  3. Are you looking for assurance?
Then get it emptied. No matter the contamination percentage, there is inevitably some degree of risk in connection with running a Diesel engine on Diesel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Possible implications of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include the motor not starting, running unevenly, reduced power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, worn out or blocked injectors, and so forth. These are a few of the most frequently seen Petrol in Diesel symptoms, and if you notice any of them then stop and get it drained right now.

This might work on some vehicles in some cases, but in the majority on instances it won't and you risk damaging the Lambda sensors as well as fuel pump and injectors, just as a regular misfuel.
