Vauxhall Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall is a very common problem. And what you want to do about it will depend on an assortment of factors. Assuming you would like to find out what it is advisable to do about this then keep on reading.
Let us discuss the key variables to keep in mind whenever deciding whether to have the car drained:

  1. How much Petrol have you put in the Vauxhall, bearing in mind that the fuel tank capacity of the Vauxhall Tigra CDTI is normally roughly 45 litres?
    1. Hardly any Petrol, less than 2.25 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Tigra CDTI will generally not really be a major problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that an amount less than 2.25 litres (which is about 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is frequently able to be sufficiently diluted simply by thoroughly topping up the remainder of the tank with the correct fuel.
It is highly uncommon to encounter a car or truck experiencing difficulties with below 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Remember that it's uncommon - definitely not impossible to find. You can get a number of cars that won't stand any level of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. Somewhere between 2.25 and 4.5 litres of Petrol in the Vauxhall (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 situation. Our practical experience has proven that as many motorists get away with this as all those who break down. Any time you're deciding on whether or not to risk it and just fill it up consider that it is the same thing as gambling everything on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 4.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Tigra CDTI should straightaway be removed because your probability of driving with that level of contamination is almost certainly lower than one in 50 - extremely big odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall and drove it: Have you detected any performance concerns after putting the wrong fuel in the Tigra CDTI? If that's the case, have it drained regardless of the amount of Petrol or the contamination percentage. Still running an automobile that is starting to suffer the effect of fuel contamination can only cause increasing amounts of harm affecting the fuel system parts.
  3. Do you need reassurance?
You should get it removed. No matter the contamination percentage, there is always some extent of threat in connection with operating a Diesel vehicle on fuel contaminated with the wrong fuel. Probable consequences of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include things like the engine refusing to start, running lumpy, reduced power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, worn or clogged injectors, and so forth. These are some of the most common Petrol in Diesel signs and symptoms, and should you notice any of them then cease driving and get it drained asap.

Stay away from having any jack-of-all-trades to try to drain your automobile. We are Vauxhall experts and have got the certification and knowledge needed to make sure that you get back on the road with minimum hassle or trouble.
