Vauxhall Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Putting Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall is a well-known mistake to make. And its solution will depend on several different things. If perhaps you would like to find out what you have to do to sort it out then keep on reading.
Listed below are the most crucial variables to take into account when determining whether or not to get a fuel drain:

  1. What amount of Petrol have you put in the Vauxhall, considering that the fuel capacity of your Vauxhall Vectra CDTI is probably roughly 61 litres?
    1. A small quantity of Petrol, as little as 3.05 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Vectra CDTI will in most situations not necessarily be a huge problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that an amount under 3.05 litres (almost 5% of the fuel tank) is oftentimes capable of being sufficiently diluted by entirely filling the tank with Diesel.
It's rather rare to find an automobile suffering from difficulties due to lower than 5% wrong fuel contamination. Do not forget that it's unusual - not impossible to find. You will discover some automobiles that don't stand any degree of fuel contamination in the slightest.
    2. In between 3.05 and 6.1 litres of Petrol in the Vauxhall (from 5 to 10%) is a 50/50 condition. Our expertise has demonstrated that as many motorists get away with it as those who don't. Any time you're figuring out whether to risk it and just top it up recognise that it is much like betting it all on black - you have a 50/50 chance of it being ok.
    3. Anything in excess of 6.1 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Vectra CDTI should promptly be drained out seeing that your likelihood of getting away with that quantity of contamination is certainly lower than one in fifty - seriously long odds.
  2. Put some Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall and drove it: Have you seen any kind of performance issues ever since putting the wrong fuel in your Vectra CDTI? If so, get it drained irrespective of the quantity of Petrol or the contamination ratio. Continually driving a motor vehicle that is currently starting to suffer from the effect of fuel contamination will probably only bring about more damage being done to the fuel system components.
  3. Are you interested in peace of mind?
Then get it drained. Regardless of the contamination ratio, there is invariably a certain level of danger connected to operating a Diesel motor on Diesel contaminated with Petrol. Likely outcomes of driving a vehicle on the wrong fuel include things like the motor refusing to start, running lumpy, lack of power, degradation of the high-pressure pump, damaged or bunged injectors, and so forth. These are a few of the most typical Petrol in Diesel warning signs, and should you notice any of them then stop and have it removed right away.
