Vauxhall Fuel Drain

ABOUT

Filling Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall is a common mistake. And what you want to do about it is based on several different things. Assuming you want to know what to do about it then keep reading.
These are the main factors to take into account when determining whether to get the car drained:

  1. What amount of Petrol did you put in the Vauxhall, taking into consideration that the fuel capacity of your Vauxhall Vivaro CDTI is in most cases around 90 litres?
    1. A modest amount of Petrol, something like 4.5 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Vivaro CDTI will generally not be a major problem. Experience has demonstrated to us that anything under 4.5 litres (which is almost 5% of the overall fuel tank volume) is usually capable of being sufficiently diluted by means of wholly filling the tank with Diesel.
It is rather rare to come across a car or truck experiencing issues because of under 5% incorrect fuel contamination. Keep in mind it is very unusual - certainly not impossible to find. You will discover a number of automobiles that will not stand any amount of contamination whatsoever.
    2. Anywhere between 4.5 and 9 litres of Petrol in the Vauxhall (5 to 10%) is a 50/50 scenario. Our practical experience has demonstrated that as many motorists get away with it as all those who don't. Whenever deciding on whether or not to chance it and just top it up recognise that it is very much like betting all of it on black - you will have a 50/50 possibility of it being ok.
    3. Anything over 9 litres of Petrol in a Diesel Vivaro CDTI should as soon as possible be drained out since your probability of driving with that quantity of contamination is in all likelihood below one in fifty - definitely long odds.
  2. Put Petrol in a Diesel Vauxhall and drove it: Have you seen any performance difficulties after putting the wrong fuel in your Vivaro CDTI? If that's the case, have it drained regardless of the volume of Petrol or even the contamination ratio. Proceeding to drive driving a motor vehicle that is currently starting to suffer the effects of wrong fuel contamination can just bring about more and more harm affecting the fuel system components.
  3. Would you like assurance?
Simply get it drained. No matter the contamination ratio, there is inevitably some extent of threat in connection with operating a Diesel engine on fuel contaminated with Petrol. Possible results of driving a car on the incorrect fuel include things like the engine not starting, running lumpy, decrease in power, wearing of the high-pressure pump, damaged or clogged injectors, and so on. These are some of the most typical Petrol in Diesel signs or symptoms, and should you notice any of them then stop driving and get it removed right now.

Do not simply get any untrained so-and-so to attend your vehicle. We are Vauxhall experts and hold the credentials and practical experience required to make sure that you get back on the road with little hassle or worry.
