# AdBlue in the Diesel Tank in Peachcroft: What Now?

One thing counts most when AdBlue is in a diesel tank, and that is whether your motor has run since.

Anywhere the car is — Lodge Hill, Peachcroft — never run an engine that hasn't been started yet.

Leave the motor and the ignition off then ring 0333 366 0103; it is generally a drain and a thorough flush, done where the car is in Peachcroft.

If it has run, stop as soon as it is safe then switch off.

It is a bigger job, though stage one doesn't change.

Below: the situations our engineers see, anywhere across Oxfordshire. Choose the one that fits.

## On a Peachcroft forecourt with AdBlue in a diesel

The cap you unscrewed was the wrong one — and you only notice it while you are standing at the pump, bottle or nozzle in your hand.

It might be the BP, or the Marcham Road Service Station, or a different forecourt in Peachcroft.

The point: of every spot to notice, this is the best.

Still inside that tank, and nothing drawn through: that is where the AdBlue is.

Next: resist the temptation to start it just to free up the pump.

Ask the staff to help you push the car into a parking spot, keep your receipt or the bottle, and phone us from the forecourt.

Draining it there at the petrol pump is fine if it cannot be moved, since the equipment is explosion-proof.

## AdBlue in the diesel tank on a Peachcroft drive?

The warning light had been on for days.

Only at the recycling bin, the empty bottle in your hand, did you look back at the cap you'd used at the drive.

Driveways close to Twelve Acre Drive see it as much as anywhere.

In short: if the car hasn't moved since, it's almost as good as spotting it at the pump.

As it is reluctant to mix, AdBlue settles low in your tank and stays. One night parked alters nothing.

Next: stop any early-morning drive by keeping your keys in the house, then ring us.

Our technicians drain the vehicle on your driveway, whether that is around Peachcroft or out in Radley Park.

Night-time drains outside a house are no problem: the pumps are low-noise.

## AdBlue in a diesel and already driving in Peachcroft?

You filled up, set off, and a mile or two later your engine began to run roughly, smoke, lose power or light up the dashboard.

Rushmead Copse, say, or the route to Oxford — a trip of under 5 miles.

The upshot: the system has pulled AdBlue in by now.

It's been through your filter and the fuel lines and, the further you went, into your high-pressure pump and the injectors.

Every restart, like every mile, pushes it on.

Your move: stop anywhere sensible, then turn your engine off.

Exit at the first junction — not the services further along — if you are on the Wheatley Spur, under 10 miles from Peachcroft.

Restarting it to check achieves nothing — AdBlue never clears itself.

Phone, and say how far the vehicle was driven.

## AdBlue in the wrong tank: hire, lease and company cars

You have only had this car a week.

On your own vehicle, AdBlue is absent or elsewhere. On this one, its inlet is right by your diesel inlet — news to you.

Throughout Oxfordshire, nobody is safe from it.

What it means: the same as the scenarios above, depending on whether it has run, with one more step.

Many hire and company contracts want the owner to approve work on your car.

Next: ring the hire company or your fleet manager first, then us — sorting it before we arrive is quicker.

If you are stranded in the car park outside Radley, or by Barrow Hills, whilst you wait for an answer, leave the car off.

## Peachcroft: unsure whether it was AdBlue in your diesel tank?

"I think so" is often the most honest as it gets.

Too light, the bottle; a trace of ammonia near the filler; a hazy memory of the cap. Sound familiar?

Maybe on a friend's drive in Lower Radley, or in a rush by Rush Common School on the school run.

Meaning? Drips around the filler don't reach your engine at all.

In your diesel tank, however, AdBlue damages it.

If there is AdBlue in the tank, firing up the vehicle would pull it in, and it wouldn't tell you which either.

Next: act as though it got in, then keep the motor off.

Phone with what you saw: we'd rather find a clean tank than drain one after your engine has been run.

## The common ground in each Peachcroft AdBlue drain

The work begins identically, whatever the case.

Filling station, drive, The College Oak's car park or a road by Peachcroft Christian Centre — the van comes to your car, and three questions come next: what fluid, which quantity, and whether it has run.

Your price comes on the call, before a van leaves, and the replies shape the work.

Then the tank is drained and the fuel system flushed thoroughly, which matters more with AdBlue than with petrol: AdBlue crystallises and is corrosive to some of the metals in a fuel system, and so it doesn't rinse out on its own.

Finally come the fuel filter, flushed or replaced as needed; clean diesel; and a check of the vehicle.

Most unrun vehicles are a half-hour job from the moment we arrive.

The final step is starting the car.

Our engineers make sure it runs properly on new diesel before we go.

Long-term damage is very unusual if it's noticed soon, and the entire job is done where your car is.

Paying is on the day, never in advance. For your insurer, there is a VAT invoice and a report from the engineer.

Plenty of insurance policies include misfuelling cover, and so it's worth checking yours whilst we are on the way.

## AdBlue drains round Peachcroft and across Oxfordshire

Throughout OX postcodes, the vans covering Peachcroft — a residential suburb — work nearby places as well, Radley and Northcourt included.

The whereabouts is quickest from a postcode beginning OX14 2.

Parked en route to Norris Park, or right in the heart of Peachcroft, your car stays where it is — there's no need to shift it at all.

Our engineers drain it where it stands.

Tricky to explain? Close to North East Abingdon Community Centre or a county line? Asking beats assuming, so phone.

## The one-line version

Where it has not run, phone and leave it off.

Run by now: pull over, power down, ring 0333 366 0103. Petrol in Diesel takes over the remainder, in Peachcroft or anywhere in Oxfordshire.
